Warms kidney yang and kidney essence, reduces kidney fire, coordinates Chong and Ren channels.
 
Indication
Er Xian Tang is indicated for kidney deficiency with backache, weakness of knee, frequent urination, dizziness, tinnitus, fine pulse; for live fire with hot flashes, insomnia, restlessness, heart palpitations; for kidney yang vacuity including general kidney deficiency symptoms, fear of cold, cold hand and feet, and decreased libido. The formula combines cooling, warming, tonifying, and reducing functions. It uses cold and warm herbs, while addressing deficiency and excess in tandem. This formula reflects the ancient teachings of TCM “yin and yang support each other”, “supplementing yang from the yin”, and “supplementing yin from yang”.
